Finding wellness through play, creativity and connection….

If you are seeking connection and creative ways to play, you are in the right place. I like to imagine little Misty peeking into the future and seeing a life she is excited to be heading toward.

My passions include:

Movement.

I feel best mentally and physically when I am challenging myself. Being uncomfortable makes falling into a comfortable space feel so much better. Biking, swimming, yoga, Pilates, hiking, paddleboarding, rollerskating, and gardening are some of my favorites.

Eating Healthy.

I strive to find ways to sustain my body for longevity and to avoid “foods” that undermine it. The amount of promotion for processed foods can make this challenging, and we can support each other by holding reverence for foods closer to nature.

Openness.

Keeping an open mind allows for a growth mindset. Leaning into what I do not understand can create opportunities for new learning and respect for others’ life experiences. Children often offer amazing insights. Adults often do, too, especially if they have walked a path that is very different from our own.

Attunement.

When I listen to those around me and better understand their dreams and needs, supporting them becomes more natural and respectful. And, we experience a higher level of connection and love. I find this to be true in my relationship to the living world around me, both human and otherwise.

Connection.

When we take time to play, create, laugh, cry, and wonder together, we are investing in our overall wellness. We are stronger, and yet softer, together.

Support of Independence.

We are stronger when we are allowed to make mistakes and try again. Having support that loves through the mistakes and holds us accountable for evolving through them allows us to continually evolve.

Stewardship.

When I imagine my role as a caretaker instead of an owner, I shift my perspective on my responsibilities and gratitude for the relationship we share. This includes the Angora rabbits, chickens, dog, home, and the yard I tend to.

Sustainability.

Remembering to feel gratitude for our resources reminds me to treat them with respect. Upcycling is one of my favorite ways to give life to products that may otherwise be deemed at the end of their lifecycle.

Creativity.

Allowing ourselves to illustrate, sew, build, plant, make music, dance, write, dream, and play is part of the joy of being a human. Creativity sparks a higher purpose in life, pulling us out of the grind and allowing us to connect with a piece of ourselves beyond the mental and physical realm.

Adventure.

There is an excitement and energy that live in exploring outside of our typical day-to-day life. From visiting domestic parks I have not yet explored, to traveling abroad and connecting with cultures far different our own, I love experiencing new realms.

Mindfulness.

If we slow down our thoughts and allow our bodies to settle, we offer space for clarity and calmness so we may show up more grounded and present in the rest of our lives.
